Description

The piece that I made for the propaganda poster is a cross on a hill with its shadow looming over the White House with the first Amendment of the United States of America slowly fading in the background. I got this idea when talking to my friend about propaganda posters and since he is someone who likes politics and history he suggested that I use the theme of religion in politics in my project. Some of the elements that are in my poster are “plain folks” and “fear”. Both the themes were intentional because I wanted a poster that everyone can relate to and it is a concept that brings fear into people and uses fear to make them think about the topic that my poster presents.

This topic is something that is important to me because of where I come from. In Iran corrupt politicians use religion as a way to justify their actions in the face of the public. In the US I am less familiar but was informed that the more that religion is rooted within politics the more it defies the first amendment. As mentioned before this poster is something that every person can relate to, at least in the United States. My goal with this poster is to in a way give out a warning about the dangers that religion in the government can cause.
